Retablos series is an exploration and a tribute to the Chicha cultural roots imprinted in my memory. Growing up in Lima, Peru, I would see bright posters announcing concerts, festivals, and theatre all around me. It was a truly joyful celebration of life, and it wasn’t until I moved abroad that I realised not all the world is so bright. The hybrid prints in Retablos keep the memories of the places I carry within me vivid and luminous.
